Schedule Intelligence Day Planner
Review technician-assignment suggestions across a selected day without moving customer appointment times.
- Choose the day and select which scheduled jobs to analyze.
- Review how many Schedule Intelligence checks a run will use before you start the analysis.
- See explainable assignment suggestions with plain-language reasoning for your dispatcher to review.
- Apply supported assignment changes individually or as supported linked groups—nothing changes automatically.
What the Day Planner does
The Day Planner helps owners and dispatchers evaluate whether scheduled jobs are assigned to the technicians who fit the day best. It considers the jobs you choose to analyze, the eligible technicians on your team, work already scheduled for each technician, appointment-window conflicts, nearby scheduled work, route fit, and estimated drive impact.
Nothing changes automatically. Your dispatcher chooses when to run the analysis, reviews the recommendations, and decides whether to apply supported assignment changes.
When to use the Day Planner
Use the Day Planner when you want to review how work is distributed across a selected day.
It can help identify:
- an unassigned job that fits naturally into a technician’s day;
- a job that may be better handled by another available technician;
- assignments that should remain unchanged because the current technician is already the best fit;
- related assignment changes that should be reviewed and applied together;
- jobs that still need manual review.
The Day Planner is an advisory tool. It does not automatically reschedule work or move customer appointment windows.
Open the Day Planner
Open Day Planner from the Field Console Operations navigation, or choose Plan assignments from the Schedule page.
You can also open the Day Planner from the Dashboard when a planning shortcut is available.
The page defaults to the current contractor-local date. Use the date controls to review today, tomorrow, or another service day.
Choose the jobs to analyze
The Day Planner shows the scheduled jobs on the selected day.
Choose the jobs you want to include in the analysis. Unassigned jobs may be selected by default. Assigned jobs can also be selected when you want Schedule Intelligence to review whether their current technician remains the best fit.
You do not have to analyze every job on the calendar. Leave a job unselected when you want its current assignment to remain fixed while the planner evaluates the other selected jobs.
Jobs without the exact location information needed for route-fit analysis may appear as excluded. Excluded jobs do not use Schedule Intelligence checks.
Review Schedule Intelligence check usage
Before you run the Day Planner, Field Console shows how many Schedule Intelligence checks the selected analysis will use.
One evaluable selected job uses one Schedule Intelligence check.
Changing the date, selecting jobs, or reviewing the preview does not use checks. Checks are used only when you deliberately choose Run Day Planner and the analysis succeeds.
Run the analysis
Choose Run Day Planner when you are ready.
Field Console reviews the selected jobs against the eligible technicians and the work already scheduled for each team member. The Day Planner then returns a suggested assignment plan with plain-language reasoning.
Depending on the job, you may see information such as:
- nearby scheduled work;
- schedule availability;
- route-fit context;
- estimated extra driving;
- estimated driving improvement compared with the current assignment;
- whether the current technician should remain assigned;
- whether the job should be reviewed manually.
Some drive-time estimates may be approximate.
Understand the recommendation types
Keep current
The current technician remains the best fit based on the selected day and available schedule context.
No Apply action is needed.
Assignment suggested
An unassigned job may fit an eligible technician’s day.
Review the reasoning and choose Apply assignment when the suggestion makes sense for your operation.
Reassignment suggested
A job currently assigned to one technician may fit another eligible technician better.
Review the current technician, suggested technician, schedule context, and estimated drive impact. Choose Apply reassignment when you want to make the change.
Manual review
Field Console could not produce a safe assignment suggestion for the job.
Review the schedule and update the job manually when needed.
Apply independent suggestions
Some suggestions can be applied individually.
When you choose Apply assignment or Apply reassignment, Field Console checks the current schedule again before making the change. If the assignment is still valid, Field Console updates the assigned technician.
Appointment times remain unchanged.
If the schedule changed after the Day Planner analysis, Field Console may ask you to run the Day Planner again.
Apply linked changes together
Some assignment suggestions depend on each other.
For example, one job may move from Alex to John while another job moves from John to Alex. Applying only one side could create an invalid intermediate schedule, even when the final combined assignment plan is valid.
The Day Planner groups related suggestions together and shows Apply linked changes when the supported group can be applied safely as one unit.
Before applying the group, Field Console checks the complete final assignment state. Supported company-job linked changes are written together so the group succeeds or fails as a unit.
If the group was already applied from another browser tab or by another dispatcher, the Day Planner shows Already applied.
Unsupported linked changes
Some linked groups may still require manual review.
For example, linked groups involving certain Zwivio-assigned jobs or mixed job sources may not be eligible for direct group Apply.
When direct Apply is not supported, the Day Planner keeps the recommendations visible and tells your dispatcher to review the assignments manually from Schedule.
Appointment times stay unchanged
The Day Planner reviews technician assignments. It does not move customer appointment windows.
The scheduled date, start time, end time, and customer commitment remain unchanged unless your team separately edits the job.
Eligible technicians
The Day Planner evaluates team members who are eligible to perform Field Console work.
Dispatchers are not counted as technicians. Inactive team members, disabled Field Console access, and team members without company-job work access are excluded.
